Lady Gaga signs open letter urging U.S. Congress to make stricter laws on gun control.

Billboard Magazine have released a powerful open letter that features the signatures of more than 150 of the world's top artists and music executives including Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Calvin Harris, Katy Perry, and many more.

The letter urges the United States Congress to introduce gun control measures following the tragic mass shooting that happened in Orlando, Florida earlier this month where 49 innocent people were killed. By delivering the letter to all the members of the U.S. Congress, it is expected to urge them to require background checks for every gun sale and to make it illegal for suspected terrorists to buy guns.

Janice Min, the chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group have explained the importance of the letter and said that guns should be taken out of dangerous hands, saying, "Like it was for millions of Americans, the Orlando shooting was a traumatic moment for people across the music industry. The victims of that terrible massacre were celebrating with the music that inspired them. With this letter, the artists and executives who signed ask not for guns to be taken away from law-abiding citizens, but for guns to be taken out of dangerous hands. Like the majority of the country, the industry begs Congress to act."

After signing the letter, Lady Gaga took to Twitter and said that the country needs stricter laws on gun control, saying, "Raise your voice America! Gun Control is needed to end violence. We need stricter laws to keep guns out of hands of the wrong people!"
