The 2016 Video Music Awards will be held on August 28, 2016 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, and recent rumors suggests that Lady Gaga has been approached by executives to make her comeback at the awards ceremony by performing a new single!
A source told The Daily Star, a British newspaper, that Lady Gaga could be the show's opening performer, saying: "Gaga has taken a break from the pop music scene recently but it looks like 2016 is about to change that. While talks are in their early stages, it looks like Gaga could open the show with her new single."
The source also revealed that Britney Spears will also perform at the show with show bosses believing that Gaga and Britney can make the awards show "bigger" and "better". The source further told the newspaper: "Show bosses are always trying to make the show bigger and better and with Britney and Gaga, they believe they can do that."
