During the Television Critics Association presscon on Tuesday, President and CEO of FX Networks John Landgraf told the crowd that director Ryan Murphy and his American Horror Story team are not going to reveal the details and theme for the upcoming new season of the award-winning horror anthology series.
According to Landgraf it would be fun if the theme for the new season remains a secret. "All I can say is that there is a theme, and a setting and a place and time, but we're not going to reveal it because we think it's going to be fun for the audience to have it be a surprise this year", he said. Many speculates that keeping the mystery on the show is a way for FX to attract and generate larger interest for the new season.
John Landgraf also revealed that most of the new six trailers for the upcoming show that we've seen last month are all 'misdirects' and were made to mislead the audience. "What we did is we made many more trailers for hypothetical seasons of American Horror Story; different genres and different places," he said. "One of them is accurate and the others are all misdirects. So we're just having fun with it, and we just thought it would be fun after five years of doing it one way." This means that only one out of those six teasers that were released recently, is the real teaser that gives clue to what Season 6 will be all about! And nobody have an idea which one is authentic!
