Lady Gaga is now confirmed to take the lead role in 'A Star Is Born' remake!

According to an exclusive report by Deadline Hollywood, Lady Gaga is now confirmed to star in a remake of the classic 1937 film "A Star Is Born" to be directed by the award winning actor and producer Bradley Cooper. With the production set to begin early next year in Los Angeles, Gaga is also set to compose and record new songs for the 2017 upcoming movie, according to the report!

Speculations about Lady Gaga getting the lead role for the movie have started when Gaga was spotted hanging out with Cooper in Los Angeles last April. Eventually, in June, reports about Lady Gaga impressing Warner Bros film executives at an audition for the lead role have surfaced online.

"A Star Is Born" is a film with a story plot that revolves around an aspiring singer who moves to Hollywood and is discovered by an alcoholic and troubled actor. The original version of the classic movie was released in 1937 starring Janet Gaynor. A remake was released in 1954 with Judy Garland as the lead role. Another remake was made in 1976 and Barbra Streisand took on the role.

Warner Bros. has been working for another remake since 2011 with Beyonce originally rumoured to be taking the lead role and Clint Eastwood as the movie director. And now that Lady Gaga is the top choice of the company to take the lead role, it will be her first ever major acting gig in a movie after winning "Best Actress" at the Golden Globes in January for her role as The Countess in "American Horror Story: Hotel".
