Lady Gaga was interviewed today by radio host Ryan Seacrest of 102.7 KIIS FM. She talked about her new album, her upcoming huge performance at Super Bowl, and many more. She even previewed a new song called 'Just Another Day' and performed an acoustic piano version of her latest single 'Perfect Illusion'.
Talking about the main purpose of her new album 'Joanne', which is coming out on October 21st with a pre-order that will start on October 6th on iTunes, Lady Gaga said that she wants to 'bring people together', saying: "What I really want to do is, I want to bring people together that wouldn't normally talk to each other, or hang out, or maybe like each other, or understand each other." She continued: "This album is about bringing all of the genres kind of music to bring people together."
The new album 'Joanne' was named after her father's sister who died at a very young age. "My dad lost her very quickly and it changed his life so dramatically. It wiped him out", Gaga told Ryan Seacrest. "Joanne, for me, was about writing an album that is about something much bigger than myself. It's about my connection to my family, my connection to my friends, my self-awareness of who I am in this world and what I wish to be."
During the interview, Lady Gaga also confirmed that she will perform her hit singles along side few new songs from 'Joanne' during her performance at the Halftime Show of Super Bowl next year. "I want to play the songs that everybody knows and loves. I'm excited about that, too, because all my records that have been hits are all very different", Gaga said. "It's interesting to play those all together and also have a few songs or more from the new album because when you hear what it sounds like in Houston in that stadium with the Super Bowl, it's just perfect."
During the interview, Lady Gaga performed a short line from a new song called 'Just Another Day'. Listen below:
