Despite of being considered by many as a threat to human rights and to American democracy, Donald Trump still won the recent U.S. presidential election. Upon receiving the news of Trump's victorious election race, a devastated but fearless Lady Gaga goes out and drives to the Republican candidate's Election Night headquarters in New York City in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
In a photo captured by photojournalist Dominick Reuter, Lady Gaga can be seen bravely staging a protest against Trump outside the Trump Tower in Manhattan. Protesting against the election result, Lady Gaga clung at a sanitation truck while holding a banner reading "love trumps hate".
Lady Gaga, who is a very vocal supporter of the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, has publicly expressed her disapproval of Trump's presidential candidacy. Days before the election day, Gaga wrote on Twitter: "@realDonaldTrump you divided us with hateful language and fear. I love everyone in this country and I vote for @HillaryClinton to unite us."
Right after the arrival of the election results, Trump claims victory and pledges to become "the president for all Americans".
"Now it's time to bind the wounds of division. I say to Democrats and Republicans it is time come together as one united people," Trump said during his victory speech in New York. "I pledge to be president for all Americans. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer."
Donald Trump is scheduled to take office as the 45th President of the United States on January 20, 2017.
